WWhen Eric Kufel became CEO of CorePower Yoga, three years ago, he was already a well-known fixture on the health scene. He previously served as CEO of Van’s International Foods, focusing on bringing healthy food to the masses. He’s doing the same at CorePower Yoga, making yoga accessible and welcoming to yogis old and new. It appears to be working: CorePower Yoga, which started in 2002, now has more than 180 studios in 23 states. Kufel spoke to Medium about his daily routine and how he’s learned to heal his body holistically after his Crohn’s disease diagnosis.

I wake up between 6:30 and 7 a.m. I recently got a sleep tracking ring called Oura Ring. So the first thing I’ve been doing lately is seeing how much deep sleep I’m getting and how I can improve it. I’m so fascinated with it. Then I meditate for 20 minutes and spend five minutes writing in a gratitude journal.
